What we do

The Qalipu Cultural Foundation exists to preserve and promote the culture and heritage of the Mi’kmaq people of Newfoundland.  We strive to inspire our people to proudly embrace their heritage and empower them to continure the traditions of our ancestors.

Mik'maq Cultural Heritage Program

The Mi’kmaq Cultural Heritage Program is an annual $10,000 funding opportunity that Newfoundland
indigenous organizations can apply for funding for regional indigenous celebrations, educational outreach,
or traditional teaching.

Outdoor Education Program

The Outdoor Education Program is a program dedicated to providing grade five students with a culturally-rich outdoor learning experience

Apiji Wejisi

Apiji Wejisi is a multi-year project to identify health and wellness needs faced by Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth.
